Tycoon Online is a text-based online game made in PHP by Anders Johansson.
The goal is to make get as a high company value as possible in your own virtual company, by producing and trading goods, or by office consulting. The game has two ranks, S-rank and C-rank. The S-rank is affected by how well you do in the stock market, essentially it's most dependant on dividends, but you can also increase it by selling shares with a profit. The C-rank is the company rank, how well your company does.
The game is played in rounds of 70 days each, after evey round your assets and company value is counted up to TOP-points which is stored between ranks on a special ranking list, which stays between rounds and versions.
Essentially is there 4 ways of making money, you can ethier profit of the stock market, buying shares and then sell them for higher prices, you also get dividend from them every sunday. Or you can sell your produced goods on the public goods market, or build shops and sell them to virtual customers, there is also offices which earn money by consulting various services like advertising, hotel lodging and house painting. The final way is by transporting goods. You buy viecles which run around in the game and transports goods of your company or other companies between cities.
The game is free but more advanced players can pay for extra features.
