U-1 is a conjunction of the letter U and the number 1 and is often used as a code, production number or callsign for an object.
Military
- U-1 is the aircraft designation of the De Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter light transport aircraft.
- U-1 is the shortened form of Unterseeboot 1, the first of the production numbers attached to all German U-boats from 1906 to the present day.
Railway
A number of cities in German speaking countries possess Underground railway networks known as U-Bahns. The first line of these railway systems is always shortened to U-1. The following systems have a U-1 Line:- U-1 is the name of the U1 U-Bahn line, the oldest line on the Berlin U-Bahn.
- U-1 is a line on the Frankfurt U-Bahn.
- U-1 is a line on the Hamburg U-Bahn.
- U-1 is a line on the Munich U-Bahn.
- U-1 is a line on the Nuremberg U-Bahn.
- U-1 is a line on the Vienna U-Bahn.
