U.S. Route 113

Encyclopedia : U : US : USR : U.S. Route 113

U.S. Highway 113 is a spur of U.S. Highway 13. It currently runs for 73 miles (117 km) from Milford, Delaware to Pocomoke City, Maryland at U.S. Highway 13. It passes through the states of Delaware and Maryland. Prior to 2004, U.S. 113 ran for another 15 miles into Dover and rejoined U.S. 13 near the Delaware State Capitol complex. Although redesignation was approved in 2004, signs long the road still mark it was U.S. 113.

An old section of U.S. 113, known as U.S. 113A or Alternate Route 113, split off of U.S. 113 in Little Heaven, near Frederica, Delaware, traveled through the small towns of Magnolia and Rising Sun, before merging onto U.S. 13 near Wyoming.

US 113 signs were taken down to the north of Milford. Most of US 113 north of Milford already was State Route 1 (non-expressway stretch and the far southern part of the expressway), and US 113 then left Del. 1 and ran along what is now called Bay Road up to its end at US 13 in Dover.
