Encyclopedia : U : US : USR : U.S. Route 126

U.S. Highway 126
U.S. Highway 126 was an east-west United States highway. It was created in 1951 and decommissioned in 1972. It was created from the remnants of U.S. Highway 28 (which was retired in 1951), and ran between Prineville, Oregon and Eugene.

The highway is now known as Oregon Highway 126. Note that OR 126 stretches further west to Florence; this section was never part of US 126 (but it was a part of the original US 28 until 1937).

Termini

When decommissioned in 1972, the highway's eastern terminus was in Prineville, at an intersection with U.S. Highway 26. Its western terminus was in Eugene, at a junction with U.S. Highway 99.
