U.S. Route 302

Encyclopedia : U : US : USR : U.S. Route 302

U.S. Route 302 is a spur of U.S. Route 2. It currently runs 171 miles (275 km) from Portland, Maine at U.S. Route 1 to Montpelier, Vermont at US 2. It passes through the states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

In the early 1920s, US 302 used to be part of the old New England Interstate road system. From Montpelier, Vermont to Wells River, Vermont (at the New Hampshire state line), US 302 was the western end of New England Route 25 (NE-25). From the state line to Littleton, New Hampshire, US 302 was NE-10 (now New Hampshire Route 10). US 302 is still concurrent with Route 10 today in this section. From Littleton eastward to Portland, Maine, US 302 was the eastern half of NE-18.
