USS Ohio

Five ships of the United States Navy have borne the name USS Ohio, named for Ohio, admitted to the Union March 1, 1803, as the 17th State.
- The first Ohio was a schooner on Lake Erie during the War of 1812.
- The second Ohio was a ship of the line launched in 1820 and in use as a warship until 1850, then later a receiving ship.
- The third USS Ohio (BB-12) was a Maine-class pre-Dreadnought battleship.
- The fourth ship of this name was USS Ohio (BB-68), a Montana class battleship cancelled before her keel was laid down.
- The fifth ship commissioned with this name was USS Ohio (SSGN-726), the lead ship of the Ohio class of nuclear-powered fleet ballistic missile submarines. Now one of the lead ships of the SSGN Conversions.
- A large American-owned oil tanker, the MV Ohio took part in the August, 1942 convoy to relieve the island of Malta.
