Uenohara (上野原市, Uenohara-shi) is a city located in Yamanashi, Japan.
As of 2003, the area within the former town of Uenohara has an estimated population of 27,174 and a density of 216.51 persons per km². The total area is 125.51 km².
As of 2005, the newly created city has an estimated population of 29,480 and a density of 172.75 persons per km². The total area is 170.65 km².
In 2005, The town of Uenohara, formerly from Kitatsuru District, merged with Akiyama Village from Minamitsuru District to become city of Uenohara.
