Ugaki Kazusige

Ugaki Kazusige (宇垣 一成; 1868 - 1956) was a Japanese general and politician of Taisho and Showa periods.
Born in Okayama, he served as War Minister several times. He formed a faction, but he lost support when he refused the post of Prime Minister during the March Incident. In 1937, after the formation of the Hirota Cabinet, Kazusige attempted to form a cabinet but failed. The following year, he served a brief term as a foreign minister under Konoe Fumimaro's cabinet. After World War II, he was elected to House of Councillors with the highest number of votes.
