Uganda competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens under the IOC country code UGA. It was the twelfth time that the African nation participated. Uganda's best achievement was Boniface Kiprop's 4th place in the 10,000 metres finals.

Uganda sent five boxers to the Athens Olympics. Four of them lost their first bout, with Sam Rukundo winning both of the team's victories and advancing to the quarterfinal before being defeated.
