The University of Liberia in Monrovia, Liberia is the oldest institution of higher learning in West Africa. The university was founded in 1862 as Liberia College and was reorganized as a university in 1951.

The University of Liberia currently is made up of a number of colleges:

William V.S. Tubman Teachers College
William R. Tolbert College of Agriculture and Forestry
College of Business and Public Administration
T.J.R. Faulkner College of Science and Technology
College of General Studies

There are three professional schools and three graduate programs:

Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law
School of Pharmacy
A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine
Graduate Program in Regional Science
Ibrahim B. Babangida Graduate Program in International Relations
Graduate Program in Education Administration

Campus

The university is divided up into three campuses: The main, original campus in downtown Monrovia, a medical campus, and the Fendall campus, located about 14 miles northeast of Monrovia. The university provides four buses to transport students between the campuses.
