University of the Sunshine Coast

Established in 1996, the University of the Sunshine Coast is a very small public university (by Australian standards), having around 5,000 students and 700 staff. It was created by the Australian federal government to serve the growing population of the Sunshine Coast region, north of Brisbane, in Queensland.
The sisterhood has with International Buddhist University (see [四天王寺国際仏教大学] on the Japanese wikipedia) in Japan. International students are accepted from IBU, and there is a program that acquires the degree of both universities.
Students at USC are represented by the USC Student Guild. Postgraduate students are represented by the USC Postgraduate Student Representative Association, a member of the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations.
