History

Sverdlovsk State Air Enterprises started operations in 1943. Ural Airlines is a joint stock company incorporated under the laws of the Russian Federation in December 1993 after the separation from Ekaterinburg airport. It was established and started operations on 28 December 1993. It is owned by Ural Wings (65.77%) and Ural Transport Bank (14.67%). It employs 1390 staff.

Ural Airlines operates the following services (at January 2005):

Domestic scheduled destinations: Chita, Ekaterinburg, Adler/Sochi, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Moscow, Nadym, Nizhnevartovsk, Noyabrsk, Novy Urengoy, Salekhard, Samara, St Petersburg, Ufa and Vladivostok.

International scheduled destinations: Dubai, Dushanbe, Khudzhand, Munich, Paris, Prague, Tashkent and Yerevan.

The Ural Airlines signed a LOI (Letter of Intent) with Aughras Trading of Ireland, for the lease of 2 Airbus 320-211. The aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in August and September 2006 and will be the first Western built aircraft for the Ekaterinburg based carrier.
