Us Weekly (a.k.a. Us or US) is a magazine founded in 1980 by Jann Wenner, the editor of Rolling Stone. It contains photos and articles focusing on celebrity style, weddings, fashion, gossip, etc. It is published in the United States and targets young female buyers. A new issue is published every Friday. Its competitors include In Touch, Life and Style, OK!, and People magazines. After Bonnie Fuller became a main editor in February 2002, the magazine took on a more sensational style, not unlike a supermarket tabloid.[link] The change in style resulted in an increase in readership. It was announced in February 2006 that the star that has been featured more than any other during the past 4 years in Us Weekly is Jessica Simpson, who appeared in over 300 articles and covers. One of the most popular sections is "The Fashion Police," featuring snarky comments from comics and stylists about celebrity fashion faux-pas. In March 2006, their website become a blog.

On June 15, 2006, it was announced that Janet Jackson's Us Weekly cover was the highest selling issue in the magazine's history.
