Encyclopedia : V : VR : VRN : V.R.Naren Kumar
V.R.Naren Kumar, often confused with Narain Karthikeyan,is a 5 time National Rally Champion(rallying) from Coimbatore,India. He started his career in Team MRF, operated by another Rally ace N.Leelakrishnan.He briefly appeared (with a peomising drive) in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7 for the Asia-Pacific championship, until bogged down with sponsorship. Currently driving in the Indian National Rally Championship, again set to arrack the European championship in future for Works Abarth team. In India he won 4 championships for Team MRF, then switched to Team JK, who themselves reappeared into the rallying scene after a long 7 year gap, just to sponsor Naren. Yet Naren won the 2005 crown for JK in a rally tyre pulled out of their old stock. A very promising driver, sadly gets sidelined in the media, general public for the other F1 ace from the same city"Narain Karthikeyan",thats mainly due to a very similar first names.
