VINASAT is the national satellite program of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The project aims to bring satellite communications technology to Vietnam and surrounding countries.
Originally planned for launch in 2005, the project has been delayed to 2008, owing to difficulties in completing the frequency coordination procedures under the Radio Regulations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
