The company notably constructed a number of underground parking garages in and around Paris (eg. under Champs-Élysées) and is operating them commercially.
On December 14, 2005, the French government announced that Autoroutes du Sud de la France will be sold to Vinci, making it the largest construction and concession company in France.
The company is the target of a merger proposal by Veolia.
