General information

-->
VLM Airlines (short for Vlaamse Luchttransportmaatschappij - Flemish Airlines) is a Belgian business airline that focusses on getting passengers to their destinations in a fast and efficient manner, with short check-in times, fast boarding and disembarkation and by flying to regional airports that are located close to city centres.

History

VLM Airlines started operations in May 1993 with a scheduled service between Antwerp and London City Airport. In 2005 VLM Airlines reported its eighth consecutive year of profit. The airline employs 375 people, and carried 604,500 passengers in 2005. Originally hubbed in Deurne, the airline now has its hub at London City Airport.

Destinations

VLM Airlines also has charters to a number of destinations within Europe. The airline offers more flights from London City Airport than any other carrier.

Fleet

15 Fokker 50 aircraft.

As of the 14th May 2006 the airline will be introducing the British Aerospace Avroliner on its services between London City and Luxembourg, it is rumoured the source of these aircraft will be the two recently retired Avro RJ70s of Euromanx.
