Val-de-Travers

The Val-de-Travers is a district in the canton of Neuchâtel, in Switzerland. It is famous for its clock industry. It is also famous for being the birthplace of absinthe.
Due to a micro-climat, the Val-de-Travers holds the coldest inhabited point of Switzerland, La Brévine, nicknamed the "Swiss Siberia"; temperatures can go as low as -37°C (recorded in 2004/2005)
