Van Nest, a neighborhood occupying the southwestern corner of the Morris Park section of The Bronx, is bounded by Bronxdale Avenue, East Tremont Avenue, and the Bronx River Parkway. It is a markedly poorer section of middle-class and Italian American Morris Park, bordering on the desolate, inner-city West Farms section of the South Bronx.
Television personality Regis Philbin is originally from Van Nest. The street on which he lived is named for him.
