Vasile Zavoda

Vasile Zavoda (born July 26, 1929 in Rodna Veche, Bistriţa) is a former Romanian football player.
He played for Metalul Baia Mare between 1947 and 1951, before joining CCA Bucharest. In 1964, aged 35, Zavoda plays his last season, for ASA Târgu Mureş before calling it a day.
Zavoda, one of the best defender the Romanian football ever produced, played 248 games in Romania's Divizia A and scored two goals. He also won 20 caps for Romania, the first in 1951 against Czechoslovakia, the last one in 1962 against East Germany. Please note that during his years as a Romanian international, Romania used to play around three, four games each year.
