Vaughan Corporate Centre (TTC)
Encyclopedia : V : VA : VAU : Vaughan Corporate Centre (TTC)
Vaughan Corporate Centre is a proposed station of the Yonge-University-Spadina line of the subway in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to be built on its western branch, the Spadina line. If built, it would be located on Jane Street and Highway 7, and may open sometime in approximately 2013 or 2014 when the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is estimated to be finished building the extension of the line to Steeles West.
The station is north of Steeles Avenue. This would be one of two stations that is outside the City of Toronto, specifically in the Town of Vaughan, in York Region. It would also be the first terminus located outside the City of Toronto.
Subway extension
The TTC has conducted the environmental assessment (see official link below) for the project to extend the Spadina line north from Downsview to York University, Steeles Avenue and the proposed Vaughan Corporate Centre. The Government of Ontario pledged $670 million of funding for its construction in its March 23, 2006 budget. The City of Toronto and the TTC have indicated their concerns about lacking funding to operate the subway once it is built.External links
