Venrock Associates was formed in 1969 to manage early stage investing activities of the Rockefeller family. Arthur Rock, founder of Venrock, funded Fairchild Semiconductor, one of the first venture funded startups in 1959. Later Venrock provided financing to companies like Apple and Intel.
