Vesper Lynd

Vesper Lynd is a fictional character of the James Bond novel Casino Royale. In the 2006 film version she is played by actress Eva Green.
Novel biography
In the novel, Bond is provided with an assistant, the beautiful but emotionally turbulent Vesper Lynd, who becomes his lover. But she holds a terrible secret—she is being blackmailed and under orders to see that Bond does not escape Le Chiffre. With her unwilling connivance, Bond is captured and tortured by Le Chiffre, but Le Chiffre is later assassinated. In the end, Vesper commits suicide and her body is discovered by Bond, who reports to his superiors, tersely: "The bitch is dead now."In Ian Fleming's eleventh novel, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, it begins with James Bond at Royale-les-Eaux where it is revealed that he makes an annual pilgrimage to visit Vesper's grave.
Film biography
Vesper is a treasury agent assigned to make sure that Bond adequately manages the funds provided by MI6. However, she is secretly working for the anonymous party that Mr. White represents. As in the novel, she becomes Bond's lover, but meets with a tragic end.
