"Vicarious" is the first official single from Tool's fourth full-length studio album, 10,000 Days. Debuting April 17, 2006 on commercial radio, the song entered the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart at #2. The song describes the vicarious thrill the public receives from hearing about the misfortunes of others in the media, despite refusal to admit it.

Video
A video of "Vicarious" is currently set to be released on an undisclosed date. A DVD single may see concurrent release, similar in format to the previously released "Schism" and "Parabola" DVDs.
According to drummer Danny Carey, fans can expect "more of the same" in regards to the band's distinctive music video style.
