Vicars Cross, Gt.Boughton Parish, Chester, Cheshire.
Vicars Cross is situated on the North East side of Chester City close to the A55 and M53.

City Councillors ; Graham Proctor, Paul Cheetham, Ken Holding (all Lib Dem) The City Council holds Area Committee meetings involving all the above councillors. Venues rotate between Vicars Cross, Boughton Heath and Huntington with meetings usually in local schools. Police and Fire officers are often present.
Parish Council Gt.Boughton Parish comprises a North and South ward. The North Ward includes most of the homes in Vicars Cross ward of the City Council. There are 8 parish councillors in the North ward.all Liberal Democrats, representing Vicars Cross. In May 2006 Sue Proctor stood against a Conservative in a by-election for the North Ward and she won almost 70% of the vote. The South ward of the parish has 7 cllrs serving Boughton Heath. ^ are Liberal Democrats. The Parish Council meeets usually on the 3rd Monday each month at 7.45pm alternating meetings between North adn South wards. Details are on Parish noticeboards. Gt. Boughton Parish Council is responsible for play areas and open spaces at Queens Road, Thackeray Drive and Dulverton Avenue. In the South ward the Parish Council works with the Caldy Valley Church to provide a neighbourhood centre, play area and boules pitch. The Parish also supports the Caldy Valley Nature Park.
The local pimary school in Vicars Cross is Oldfield Primary situated in Green Lane. Most local children go on to attend Christleton High School.
In Vicars Cross there is a United Reformed Church, Pre-School Play Group (at the school) Cheshire County Council library (in Green Lane), County Youth Centre (in Thackeray Drive), and Scout HQ (Thackeray Drive also). Local groups involved TWG and WI; PArent adn Toddler group, Scouts; Brownies; Football (Vicars Cross Dynamos)and Chester Rugy Club.
Current Local issues A deliberate fire destroyed a Spider's Web climbing frame on Queens Road field in Vicars Cross on the night of 9th June. The play equipment had cost £13,000 to install just one month ago. The Parish Council has to consider now whether to replace it and how to raise the money. The arsonist effectively robbed local residents of £13,000 and left local children heartbroken.
Buses. Chester Bus have changed the service in Vicars Cross and now there is only one route which goes one way around Queens Road. This means local people, particularly elderly ones, cannot get to the local shops in Green Lane and back home again.
