Vicarstown

Vicarstown (Baile an Bhiocáire in Irish) is a village in County Laois, Ireland. It is notable for the Grand Canal which flows through the village. Henry Grattan the great orator and politician was awarded £50,000 in 1782 by the Irish Parliament to purchase lands and subsequently bought lands in this area from the Cosby family from Stradbally.
The local Gaelic Football team are Annanough or as gaeilge Aonac Na N'Gac.
