Coordinates: Vikna is a municipality in the county of Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. The municipality consists of a large island archipelago with some 4,000 large and small islands going far into the Norwegian sea off the northwestern coast of Nord-Trøndelag. The main town is Rørvik. Fishing, fish farming, public service and agriculture are the main sources of income. The Norveg museum, devoted to the coastal way of life through the centuries, is located in Rørvik. Hurtigruten calls at Rørvik, and there is road connection by way of the Nærøysund Bridge east to the E6. There is also a small airport at Ryum, near Rørvik, with (among other) flights south to Trondheim.
