Vodafone Czech Republic is a mobile telephony provider in the Czech Republic. It is a part of the worldwide Vodafone company.
The company was founded as Oskar in 1999; it was the Czech Republic's third GSM provider, after Eurotel and Paegas (now T-Mobile). It is the second of the three, after T-Mobile, to adopt an international brand. After it was purchased by Vodafone from the Canadian company Telesystem International Wireless Inc. in 2005 it was known as Oskar Vodafone until the Oskar brand was dropped on February 1, 2006.
The company is presently the smallest of the three Czech operators, with a market share of between 17 and 19 percent.
