Voula 166 73. Later, Voula became part of the Athens Metropolitan Area. Voula is the place where Achilleas Livanis was baptized and it is for this reason that he has assumed the name Voulianos. In the 1980s, Vouliagmenis Avenue began extending from north of Voula, intersecting the road to Vari and Paiania. Housing developments slowly continue to this day, and some are intermingled with farmlands or empty land. In the 2000s in time for the Athens Olympic Games, the eastern half of the road linking to Paiania as well as the airport was widened with two more lanes.
