DemographicsIn 2002, it had a population of 387,632 and the population density was 80/km².[official statistics] http://www.edrc.ro/recensamant.jsp?regiune_id=503&judet_id=810&localitate_id=0 GeographyThis county has a total area of 4,857 km².The West of the county consists of the Southern end of the Eastern Carpathians, the curved region (Carpaţii de Curbură in Romanian) with heights over 1400 m . The area is a seismically active area, with a lot of earthquakes happening every year at depths between 80 and 160 km. The heights decrease to the East, passing through the hills to the lower Siret River valley. The main affluent of the Siret River which crosses the county is the Putna River. EconomyThe county is famous for its wines, being the biggest producer in Romania over 11% of the surface being covered with vines. The wine regions are Panciu - 8100 ha, Odobeşti - 7000 ha, and Coteşti.The predominant industries in the county are:
