Encyclopedia : W : WB : WBA : WBAN (WB 100+)
WBAN is the WB affiliate for Bangor, Maine. It is a part of The WB 100+ Station Group, and as such only broadcasts on local cable television systems.
History
WBAN started in 1998, when The WB required over-the-air affiliates to be in the top 100 markets, gradually replacing WBGR-LP as the WB affiliate in Bangor.WBAN's future is uncertain, as CW programming will be shown on WABI-TV's digital signal when UPN and The WB close down and merge in the fall of 2006. UPN is provided by Boston, Massachusetts's WSBK-TV, which has already been announced as going independent.
