WEZB, AKA B-97FM, is a mainstream Top 40 outlet based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The station is owned by Entercom and they broadcast their format at 97.1 MHz with a ERP of 100 kW.
History
WEZB, who previous formats included Beautiful music and Disco, has been a Top 40 since the 1980s, except for a break between 1994 and 2000 when it made a detour to Talk and Adult Top 40 before going the Rhythmic route, which they would eventually shift out of by 2005. WEZB was also a member of the United Radio Broadcasters of New Orleans alliance of broadcast stations during the Hurricane Katrina natural disaster which devastated the New Orleans area in late 2005.
WEZB's current slogan/positioning statement is "All The Hits", as of November, 2005. WEZB is imaged and branded promotionally and audibly locally. WEZB features the voice of Will Morgan, accomplished audio production veteran as the "Station Voice" WEZB's Program Director is Mike Kaplan, as of April, 2004.
