Some of the original personnel from the stations initial starting point have remained with the station, including former hotdog vender Mike North, former Chicago Sun-Times columnist and former Chicago Bulls journalist Terry Boers, and former "Chicago Cubs Bleacher Bum" Mike Murphy.
The Score is known for some original traits that separate it from the hundreds of sports talk stations around the country such as:
- The stations relationship with long time listeners. Many of the original listeners from the stations inception remain dedicated listeners, callers, and contributors to the station. Calling under colorful monikers such as "Stan from Bellwood", or "Noots In The Tower" or "Schmutzie". Many of the callers to the station supply regular contributions to the station in the form of faxes, emails, and calls as well. Some of the regular callers have longtime friendships with The SCORE's on-air personalities.
- The stations relationship with many well known Chicago celebrities - sports or otherwise. Well known Chicagoans appear on WSCR such as; former Major League pitcher, and former Chicago Cubs announcer Steve Stone, former Chicago Bears Head Coach Mike Ditka, Chicago actor Bernie Mac, current Manager of the World Champion Chicago White Sox Ozzie Guillén are regular contributors to the station.
- The Stations various "Radio Remotes". Radio shows done from various locations in the Chicagoland area, ranging from restaurants and bars, to Chicago sports teams spring training, or training camps. At one point, morning radio personality Mike North even did a series of remote shows from the backyards of various SCORE listeners.
