WWE Backlash
Encyclopedia : W : WW : WWE : WWE Backlash
WWE Backlash is an annual World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) event, which started in 1999. As of 2004, Backlash became a RAW exclusive pay-per-view event. Backlash will often feature a rematch from WrestleMania, or a match based on events that took place at WrestleMania. On three occasions (1999, 2004, and 2005), the main event for Backlash was identical to the main event for that year's WrestleMania (with the exception that the 1999 Backlash match featured Shane McMahon as the special referee rather than Mankind). The match results were always identical as well. As of 2006, Triple H is the only wrestler to have competed at every Backlash event, with a win-loss record of 3-5.
