WWT Castle Espie

WWT Castle Espie is a wetland reserve managed by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Castle Espie on the banks of Strangford Lough in Comber, Northern Ireland. It is part of the Strangford Lough Ramsar Site. The "Castle" which gave the reserve its name no longer exists.

Almost the entire population of Pale-bellied Brent Geese overwinters here.

Facilities Coffee shop, gift and book shop, exhibition area, hides, woodland walk, guided walks for groups (by prior arrangement), events and activities, free parking, picnic area.

Please note that dogs are not allowed in WWT Centres except guide dogs.

WWT Castle Espie is located on Strangford Lough, 3 miles south of Comber and 13 miles south-east of Belfast. Signposted from the A22 Comber-Killyleagh-Downpatrick road.
