Wal-Mart Tire & Lube Express are quick-service oil change and tire shops located at most Wal-Mart Supercenters. They provide Wal-Mart shoppers with low-cost maintenance to their vehicles. Usually, shoppers end up shopping in Wal-Mart's other departments while their car is being worked on. Normally, the automotive section at the Supercenter's with the Tire & Lube Express have a selcection of batteries and tires in addition to the other automotive parts & supplies seen at the regular discount stores.
Tires
The tire selection at Wal-Mart is extensive, as name brands such as Good Year, Michelin, and Uniroyal (among others) are sold here. In addition, Wal-Mart does balancing and rotation. Wal-Mart also offers tire-protection packages for the life of the tire if something goes bad. This usually does not apply, however, if the car is out of alignment, and one of the few things Wal-Mart Tire & Lube Express does not do for car owners buying new tires is put the car back into alignment, compared with similar rivals such as Sears's Auto Care Center, which does do alignment.Tires, however, are generally cheaper at the Tire & Lube Express than compared to Sears and chains such as Monro Muffler, Brake, & Service and NTB. As a result, Wal-Mart generally does a lot of business selling tires.
Oil Changes
The Tire & Lube Express, like most oil change places, uses a "preferred" oil brand when oil changes are done. The "preferred" brand varies from location to location, with major brands such as Castrol, Valvoline, Pennzoil, or Quaker State usually being the "preferred" brand. However, unlike those places, if a consumer asks for it (at an extra cost), the Tire & Lube Express can also use a different oil brand, such as Mobil 1, Havoline, Formula Shell, or one of the other major brands mentioned above that isn't the "preferred" brand, among others.The Tire & Lube Express offers two packages:
- 3-Point Oil Change -- Basically, an oil change plus a new oil filter and lubrication of chassis. The brand of oil used is Wal-Mart's in-house Super Tech brand. (Though the oil itself is supplied through an agreement with ExxonMobil, so quality usually isn't an issue.) Usually costs around $18.
- 15-Point Oil Change -- Costing a little more than the 3-point oil change (around $21), the 15-point oil change has the mechanics not only do everything the 3-point change does--which, in this case, uses the "preferred" brand unless the shopper asks otherwise--but also check the lights, battery power, fluids, air filter, and wiper blades. In addition, the car interior is vacuumed out. If any lights need to be replaced or fluids need to be filled up, it is done at no extra charge.

- Battery replacement -- The Tire & Lube Express will install a new battery at no extra charge. Purchase of battery required.
- Air filter replacement -- The Tire & Lube Express will install the air filter at no extra charge. Purchase of new air filter required.
- Wiper blade replacement -- The Tire & Lube Express will install the wiper blades at no extra charge. Purchase of new wiper blades required.
