Walden Media is a film production company. Their projects tend to be based on notable classic or award-winning children's literature, though their library includes biographies and documentaries as well.
The company originally came to prominence with the release of a movie based on Louis Sachar's Holes, and recently released , based on the tale by C. S. Lewis, and Hoot based on the novel by Carl Hiaasen. Currently in development are movies based on Katherine Paterson's Bridge to Terabithia, Lewis' and Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising series.

Walden Media is named after Henry David Thoreau's Walden. Its logo is a rock skipping across a pond.
