1926 - 1929 Deputy Chief General Staff, India.

1929 - 1931 General Officer Commanding 5th Division.

1933 - 1936 General Officer Commander in Chief Western Command.

1936 - 1939 Director-General of Territorial Army, War Office.

1937 - 1940 Aide-de-Camp to the King.

1939 Inspector-General of Home Defence, War Office.

1939 - 1940 Commander in Chief of the British Home Forces.

1940 Retired.

1949 Died.
