- ''This article describes the song by Red Hot Chili Peppers. For the concert tour see 'Warped Tour'.
Warped is a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers from their 1995 album One Hot Minute. It is the first song on the album and was also released as the first single complete with a music video, which was met with some controversy over frontman Anthony Kiedis and guitarist Dave Navarro kissing at the end. It is approximately five minutes long. "Warped" is very different compared to the songs heard on Blood Sugar Sex Magik four years before, as it has a distinct absence of any of the Chilis signature rap or funk. Instead it is closer to a heavy metal sound laden with psychedelic influences.
The song is largely believed to be about drugs, more specifically about Anthony Kiedis' struggles with addictions. This is reflected not only in the musical style but also the lyrics, as Kiedis sings about his "tendency for dependency" and how he his only pretending to be strong and free from it, when really it is warping him, making him "descend, all the way".
