Encyclopedia : W : WA : WAR : Warren Woods State Park
Warren Woods State Park is a 311 acre (1.26 km²) state park found in Berrien County, Michigan, near the town of Three Oaks. The park is home to one of the last areas of climax beech-maple forests in Michigan, in addition, many of these trees are over 300 years old. As a result the area is designated as a National Natural Landmark.
The park has few facilities and is administered by nearby Warren Dunes State Park. Most visitors come for the 3.5 miles (5.6 km) of hiking trails, which lead into the forest and to the Galien River.
