Watford DC Line

Encyclopedia : W : WA : WAT : Watford DC Line

The Watford DC Line is a railway line which runs from London Euston to Watford Junction. Services on the line are operated by the railway company Silverlink. The West Coast Main Line runs parallel to the line for almost all of its length, whilst the Bakerloo Line of the London Underground runs along the it from Queen's Park to Harrow & Wealdstone. The rolling stock used on the line is Class 313 multiple units.

The line is electrified using a third rail system. The line will be controlled by the London Rail division of Transport for London from 2007. At that point, the line will be served by refurbished Victoria Line Stock rather than the Silverlink Metro Class 313 trains when the Victoria Line receives new trains. This may be to aid the re-extension of the Bakerloo line to Watford Junction by using compatible trains.
