Watford High Street railway station
Encyclopedia : W : WA : WAT : Watford High Street railway station
Watford High Street station is a railway station in Watford, United Kingdom, in the north of London. The local lines make a wide loop away from the main lines to serve this station.
The Bakerloo Line was extended through this station to Watford Junction in 1917, but in 1982 the portion of the line north of Harrow & Wealdstone was transferred to what is now the Silverlink Metro service working out of London Euston; this service still uses these 600 V DC lines for its "all stations" local service.
A [scheme] to divert the Metropolitan Line's Watford branch to Waford Junction via the disused Croxley Green branch may yet see the return of Tube trains, albeit formed of the Met's surface stock rather than the deep level stock of the Bakerloo Line. This scheme has now been given the go ahead.
