Waverley is a suburb in the Local Government Area of Waverley Council in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia
Adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, Waverley Municipality has three surfing beaches: Bronte, Taramara, and the world famous Bondi Beach. The municipality is also home to a large concentration of Sydney's Jewish community.
Apart from the tourist district of Bondi Beach, Waverley Municipality has one major commercial centre, Bondi Junction. The suburb of Waverley is the highest in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and is centred on the major road junction known as Charing Cross.
Notable residents
- Bob Windle, gold medallist in the 1500m freestyle at the 1964 Summer Olympics grew up in the suburb.
