Weidmüller is the leading manufacturer of components for electrical connection technology. The Weidmüller product portfolio ranges from terminal blocks, PCB connectors and terminals, protected components, Industrial Ethernet components and relay sockets to power supply and overvoltage protection modules suitable for all applications.
The Weidmüller Group has a strong international orientation with production facilities, sales companies and agencies in over 70 countries.
Corporate History
In 1850 C.A. Weidmüller was foundet by Carl August Weidmüller as a company of the textile industry. 1931 Gottfried Gläsel becomes new owner of the company. The name Weidmüller is maintained because of it´s outstanding reputation. In 1947 Gottfried Gläsel joins forces with Wilhelm Staffel, an engineer who has developed a new form of terminal with a plastic body. In the next year on the 5th February the company C.A. Weidmüller KG is entered in the commercial register. A few months later, the market introduction of the first terminal series made of Duroplast with screw clamp system and screw mounting follows. In 1952 Weidmüller takes part at the "Hanover Messe" for the first time. In the following years Weidmüller is founding several sales companies and manufacturing companies all over the world. For example in 1959 the first sales company in the United Kingdom. Sales companies in the USA and Canada followed 1975. In 1988 the enterprise consists of 22 group branches in 15 countries.Weblinks
