Weidner Center

The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts is a performing arts center in Green Bay, Wisconsin and part of University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. It is named after the university's founder, Dr. Edward Weidner. In addition to being the home of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's theatre and musical ensembles, the center also hosts individual entertainers and touring companies . The center seats about 2,500 people and has a mandate of providing a venue accessible to both the university population and to the larger Green Bay community. The center opened on January 15, 1993.
In December 2005, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay announced that the center would no longer book Broadway performances, and would focus on campus and community performances, speakers, and educational programming.
