West Wales

West Wales is the western area of Wales bordered by South Wales to the east. The area is loosely-defined, but is generally considered to include Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, and often the city of Swansea.
Southern Pembrokshire is the area known as Little England beyond Wales.
The area includes the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Towns of the region include Llanelli and Carmarthen.
The name West Wales was also applied to the Kingdom of Cornwall during the period of the Heptarchy.
For many purposes Wales can be divided into only three regions, North Wales , South Wales and West Wales. In this scenario the boundary between West Wales and North Wales is marked by the Cerdigion Powys Border. Powys itself is divided with the Traditional County of Brecknockshire being included in South Wales with Montgomeryshire included in North Wales.
Note
The region of Cornwall is often referred to as "West Wales" before its conquest by the Anglo-Saxons. What is today Wales is referred to as "North Wales" by historians during the existence of "West Wales"/Cornwall.See also
