Where the Heart Is is a British television drama series set in the fictional town Skelthwaite. First shown in 1997, it is still running as of 2006 and was created by Ashley Pharoah and Vicky Featherstone. One of ITV's longest-running shows, Where the Heart Is is known for being what has been described as a haven for former soap stars, including Thelma Barlow, Sarah Lancashire, Philip Middlemiss and Samantha Giles.
The series is filmed in and around the Huddersfield area and uses an old mill as its main base.
