The term white knight can have several meanings:
- The white knight is a chess-piece, often associated with the abstract battle of good against evil. This is the origin of most of the other meanings. See also Black Knight.
- The white knight can be a Knight errant or Paladin or Knight in shining armor
- The White Knight is a character in Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. Based on the chess-piece - and the author, this character is a bumbling but kindly old man with a penchant for useless inventions.
- White knight (business) is a potential acquirer.
- White Knight is also a chess simulation game designed for the 1980s platform, the BBC Microcomputer – Model B.
- The Scaled Composites White Knight is the name of a jet powered carrier aircraft used to launch Scaled's SpaceShipOne privately funded experimental spacecraft.
- White Knight is also a Chicago Hip House artist from the late 80's early 90's
- White Knight is one of the founders of L0pht and is a member of hacker group Cult of the Dead Cow

- The White Knight was once a peasant and eventually became a knight and was the main hero in the Legend of the 8 colored Knights, his ultimate nemesis: the Black Knight.
