The Kinsky family were members of the Bohemian aristocracy. In 1628, he was elevated to Count in the Czech peerage when the Wallenstein Family, to which he was connected, were ennobled.
Wilhelm Kinsky was killed at Egerin 1634 as part of the plot to assassinate Field Marshal Albrecht von Wallenstein of the Imperial Austrian Army.
