William K.Everson (b.1929,Yeovil,Somerset,England,d.1996,New York City,USA),was a Film Historian,Critic,Writer,and Collector.In the US from the age of 21,it is said Everson helped to preserve many films from the silent era to the 1940's which would otherwise have been lost.He also wrote innumerable articles and critiques in many publications,and also authored several books,including "The Films of Laurel and Hardy" in the late 1960's.
